Silver City, NM – The Silver City Arts & Cultural District (SCACD) is pleased to announce a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Silver City Trail Kiosk at the Visitor Center, 201 N. Hudson Street on May 1 at 11:30 am. Mayor Ken Ladner will be master of ceremonies. All are welcome. Certificates of appreciation will also be awarded.

The kiosk was funded by a grant awarded to the Town by the US Department of Transportation and executed by the Silver City Arts & Cultural District. Two trail maps are mounted in the kiosk, one of Silver City trails and one of Grant County trails. The text is in both English and Spanish. The map designer was Alexa Verardo and the construction firm was Exerplay.

Lee Gruber said, "It's always gratifying to be involved with a collaborative effort which benefits our community; in this case, a Department of Transportation Grant, written by the SC Arts & Cultural District and supported by the Town of Silver City, to design and build a kiosk to provide maps and information about regional trails for the benefit of our local population and visiting tourists. Thank you and Bravo to all involved." These maps will be reproduced in a brochure to be printed in early May. A number of way finding signs for trail heads are also being funded by the grant and are currently under development.

The ceremony will take place immediately in front of the kiosk.
