Massive New Jersey Wind Failure Should Serve As Warning

Washington, D.C. - In an announcement late Tuesday, Orsted, a global offshore wind developer, announced it is abandoning one of the largest wind projects in the country mere months after Garden State taxpayers were stuck with a $1 billion tab to keep the failing program afloat. Just last June, New Jersey lawmakers narrowly approved a measure allowing the wind manufacturer to keep tax credits it would have otherwise had to return to ratepayers.

“When green dreams run into hard reality, the results are never pretty,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “Wind power receives billions in taxpayer support, yet we see project after project failing. In this case, it’s the people of New Jersey left holding the bag. Governor Murphy can rage all he wants about getting back money from the company for coffers in Trenton, but the truth is the green agenda pushed by him and other militant leftists that made today happen. That’s cold comfort to Garden State families staring down a long cold winter with soaring energy costs.”

'Too Favored to Fail' - Biden’s Green Allies Line Up For Bailouts

Washington, D.C. - According to a recent exclusive report, President Biden’s Climate Czar held secret meetings with an electric vehicle manufacturer that receives millions in taxpayer incentives. The meetings came to light after a review of White House visitor logs and show that John Podesta met with company leaders and lobbyists, all of which declined to comment on the discussions at the meeting. The reports arrive at the same time six governors are calling on President Biden to bail out offshore wind projects. In August 2022, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act, which included $369 billion for “clean energy,” yet recently one inspector general warned the Biden Administration is not properly managing the funds.

PTF Slams Newsom’s China Visit While California Families Continue to Pay

Washington, D.C. - California Governor Gavin Newsom is in China today meeting with President Xi Jinping to discuss climate. Newsom’s trip comes as families in California are paying $5.38 per gallon for gasoline which is $1.84 above the national average. Last year, Newsom signed off on regulations banning the sale of gas-powered cars in California by 2035 which will make the state more dependent on Chinese manufactured electric vehicle components.

Biden Again Silent on Iran Oil Sanctions, Ramping Up American Energy to Help Our Allies

Washington, D.C. - While addressing the world from the Oval Office tonight, President Biden again failed to mention the billons of dollars the United States is allowing to flow to Iran. In his prepared remarks, the President noted Iran’s deadly role in supporting both Russia and Hamas, yet remained silent on taking real steps to cut Tehran’s money pipeline. Since taking office, the Biden Administration’s neglectful enforcement of oil sanctions has allowed Iran to collect billions on record exports.

In response to the President’s remarks, Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future issued the following statement:

Power The Future Files Lawsuit Seeking Public Records Exposing Climate Activists Abusing Public Offices

Washington, D.C. - Power the Future filed a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) lawsuit against the New York State Office of the Comptroller in the Supreme Court of New York challenging redactions and other withholdings of public records. Power The Future is seeking documents that could point to the Office's coordination with environmentalist activist groups using public offices — with fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers and pensioners — to advance their extreme agenda.

Biden Deals for Oil From Venezuela After Cutting Domestic Production Opportunities

Washington, D.C. - According to reports, the Biden Administration is working on a deal with the dictator of Venezuela to ease oil sanctions in exchange for assurances on elections. The news comes less than three weeks after Biden’s Interior Department announced they would hold the fewest offshore oil and gas lease sales in the history of the United States.

“The pathetic pattern of Joe Biden’s energy policy continues: attack American energy production while begging foreign powers to produce more oil,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future. “Whether it’s turning a blind eye to Iran’s oil sanctions or making a deal with socialist dictators, Joe Biden has never meet a foreign barrel of oil he doesn’t like. By now, it should be abundantly clear that Joe Biden will always prefer Tehran over Texas and Caracas over Carlsbad.”

PTF Cheers Election of Jeff Landry as Governor of Louisiana

Washington, D.C. - Voters in Louisiana have elected pro-energy candidate Jeff Landry to be their next governor. Governor-elect Landry received enough support so that a run-off race will not be needed. In response, Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future issued the following statement:

“Louisiana is a critical state if we are going to regain American energy independence and the voters there have sent a clear message in rejecting Joe Biden’s green agenda. We’re proud to congratulate Governor-elect Landry, who campaigned on strengthening Louisiana’s economy by supporting affordable and reliable energy. Hopefully, this victory for energy in Louisiana is the first of many because the 2024 election will be the most important in a generation and energy is on the ballot.”
