Go Natural for Good Health
Introduction
"Go Natural for Good Health"
In the decade between the 1980s and 1990s, Nancy Pidutti wrote many local health columns. Later, she wrote a two-and-a-half year, monthly health newsletter, called “Let’s Be Healthy.”
She will be sharing some updated versions from her newsletter on a wide variety of topics.
You might find her newest book, “How to Stay Healthy in a World Gone Mad: A Handbook for Kingdom Living,” an interesting addition to these columns.
Are You Ready For Bug Snackers?

The Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations has been busy on your behalf. They consider insects a reasonable addition to our food repertoire.
It's been no secret in the food industry that a certain amount of bug dust, detritus or fragments may be in anything from chocolate to coffee beans. CNN Health has an article to let us know that there can even be rodent hairs in every 16 oz. box of spaghetti. (+ a very generous helping of insect parts.)
"Food defects" are allowable by our US Food & Drug Administration, which attempts to put a limit on the amount we consume. Their limits would not match our limits. However, what is already allowable is another whole topic.
The Flip Side of the Nightshade Family.

In the last post, we looked at how eating members of the nightshade family can cause joint pain because of the chemical solanine.
Today, we'll explore how a growing number of people are having increased joint pain. It appears to be related to taking the injections pushed in the past couple of years. What wasn't told was that they depressed immunity and did not prevent people from getting covid.
I listened to a lengthy conference featuring Dr. Bryan Ardis as one of the speakers. His wife had become very ill and he worked to discover the cause. She had tinnitus so loud it interfered with her ability to hear. She could no longer taste or smell. This and other symptoms had gone on for over two years.
Joint Pain: Is There Any Hope?

Let's explore some reasons for joint pain and then look at some methods that have been successful for some people in helping them cope or overcome their own painful joints.
It would be nice if I could tell you that a particular method worked for many, so it would also be your panacea. However, I've been around long enough not to make irrational promises. Every person's body is uniquely different. Your spiritual life and thought patterns play complex roles in the function of your body. We'll look at their effect in future sharings.
Food intolerance seems to play a strong role in malfunction of joints. The way this sensitivity triggers your joint pain may not be completely understood. However, we'll look at things you may be able to change in order to give yourself some relief if this is a factor in your painful joints.
Hey, Hey Vitamin A

Since we've been looking at eye exercises, it seems fitting to focus on the vitamin that feeds and helps maintain them in good health. Vitamin A is not alone but is part of a family which includes beta-carotene. However, today we'll look at retinol which is the specific name for vitamin A.
Retinol is the form of vitamin A the body recognizes as immediately available for use. In fact, before betacarotene can be used, it must undergo a process of change in the body which takes several hours until it turns into retinol.

B ALL YOU WERE MEANT TO BE
Do your eyes sometimes feel gritty as though sand particles grated under the lids? (and you weren't out in the wind.) Are your eyes bloodshot at times for no known reason? Do you fight depression and frequently feel tired? Do you occasionally get cracks at the corners of your mouth or find your lips cracking and peeling?
If you've lived with these symptoms and are resigned to them, it could be that you have a chronic deficiency of riboflavin (vitamin B2).
Riboflavin is essential for health, normal living, growth and tissue repair, and fat and protein metabolism. Yet, many people, if tested today, would likely show marginal body levels with a host of minor symptoms pointing toward more difficult future problems. Adele Davis, long ago, felt it was the most widespread deficiency in America, and that was in the '60s.

Pollen, Pumpkin Seeds and the Male Prostate
We would little suspect that pollen and pumpkin seeds have something in common. They have both been used at times to help heal the prostate gland enlargement that men tend to develop in mid-life.
That probably sounds too good to be true. However, in countries where men eat raw pumpkin seeds throughout their life the incidence of benign prostatic hypertrophy (the medical term for such swelling), develops with far less frequency.

Did you try the exercises I shared last time? Dr. William H. Bates, an ophthalmologist first wrote about these in 1920. He had his patients practice these methods. He worked with tens of thousands of patients and performed many thousands of actual experiments with them. He found that younger people had the most remarkable results.
Whenever I do these exercises my eye muscles feel stronger. With more practice, I hope to see visual improvement. Today, we'll look at another set of exercises you can do.
How many times have you felt your eyes begin to sting, burn, ache, or generally feel tired from use? This is one of the quickest pick-me-ups for eyes I've ever tried.
Dr. Bates called this palming. All it uses are the cupped palms of your hands..

This describes how vision works and gives another exercise for tired eyes.
THE EYES HAVE IT
Have you noticed that your vision becomes less clear when you're tired or under tension and strain? Today, we'll look at why that happens.
The retina, which is the light-sensitive, inner area of the eye, is extremely intricate. This amazing, delicate area is made up of eight layers and two membranes. The layer which receives visual impressions is made up of rods and cones.
Rods help determine black and gray sight while cones allow us to perceive colors. Both rods and cones are made of membranes that house tiny discs. These discs are used up at the tip in the continual process of vision and are continuously being replenished at the bottom of each structure. Think of it like an ice cream cone that would push up from the bottom with each lick off the top.
